New York State has an agreement with Quebec and Ontario. Plead ‘Not Guilty’ to the ticket and schedule a TVB hearing in the jurisdiction where the ticket was issued. Plead ‘Guilty’ to the ticket and immediately pay the fines, fees, and surcharges that result from a plea of guilty. This does not mean that your insurance company will not be alerted to the existence of an out-of-state conviction. A TVB traffic ticket is a ticket for non-criminal moving violations issued in the five boroughs of New York City. Points will not be added to your New York State driving record if you are convicted of a traffic infraction in another state or country, unless the violation occurred in Ontario or Quebec.
